Commercial Bank Qatar Masters : Aussie Barron leads, Cockerill M/C.. full leaderboard

DP World Tour : Commercial Bank Qatar Masters Leaderboard

The cut has fallen at Even par after 36 holes on  the Doha GC at this years Commercial Bank Qatar Masters with the 806th owgr Aussie, 28 year old Haydn Barron leading the field 68 67 -9 in search of his first DP World Tour win.

He's only made 2 bogey's with 11 birdies over 36 holes and leads the pack by two shots with Japanese rookie of the year Rikuya Hoshino 69 68 -7 and another Aussie Harrison Endycott 69 68 -7 T2.

Aaron Cockerill

After a battling opening +2 74 Canada's lone representative Aaron Cockerill needed a -2 70 as it turned out, this morning when he went out in calm conditions in the early wave.

Beginning steadily at the 10th tee with 5 straight pars, he drove it wide right at the par 4 15th into the Native area OB, and was 3 off the tee resulting in a double bogey 6. However he bounced right back, driving the green at the short par 4 16th for a birdie, out in +1 37.

He made the turn at the with a great birdie at the par4 2nd with a 340 yard drive and a wedge to 12 feet, however he gave that right back at the par3 3rd, when his chip from the fairway just short of the green ran 25 feet past the hole for a bogey 4.

So now at +1 with 6 holes to play, he was all pars, with a birdie 4 at the 9th to end up with E 72 to miss the cut by 2 shots.

He now has a week off before the Tour leaves the Middle East for Africa and the Magical Kenya Open on February 22 where as memory serves, he finished T2 in 2022.
