Sunday Play at AT&T Pebble Beach delayed until 10am. Weather forecast.. Opinion

 PGA Tour : AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Leaderboard

Shortly after 5.10am (8.10am EST) PGA Tour officials informed players 

Pebble Beach Pro-Am Weather

" The final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am has been delayed due to inclement weather. The first tee time will not be before 10am PST. All tournament facilities are closed and further announcements will follow."

Here is the weather network's timeline for today beginning at 10am PST

10am  Rain 90% wind 35 km/h SE gusting to 52 km/h

11am  Rain Showers 80% wind S 37 km/h gusting to 56 km/h

12pm  Rain showers 80% wind S 40 km/h gusting to 60 km/h

1pm    Rain showers 80% wind S 43 km/h gusting to 64 km/h

2pm   a Few Showers 80% wind S 42 km/h gusting to 64 km/h

3pm   a Few Showers  80% wind S 39 km/h gusting to 58 km/h

4pm  a  Few Showers 80% wind S  34 km/h gusting to 51 km/h

5pm  a Few Showers 80% wind S 27 km/h gusting to 40 km/h

OPINION :

Therefore even if the rain eases up as the day goes on, the wind and the saturated course are still factors officials will be hard pressed to overcome to put it mildly.

If all concerned parties, i.e. PGA Tour, TV, players, Sponsors don't call it off by tonight then the decision will go to Monday, The problem is the rain is projected to continue all night long leaving Pebble Beach completely soaked, even when the rain dries out to "a chance of a shower around 8am.

The Tour has said if they can't start by 10am on Monday the event will officially be 54 holes with Wyndham Clark the *winner
