Rahm wins the American Express, Hadwin top 20.. final results

PGA Tour: American Express final results here

Consider this, Jon Rahm came into this week with 8 top 10 finishes in 9 world wide starts including 3 wins in his last 5 starts, the most recent the 2 weeks before at the Sentry TOC.

Jon Rahm holds the winner's trophy after winning the American Express

On Sunday he made it 4 wins, beating a tremendously cool performance by American rookie Davis Thompson playing in only his 7th PGA Tour event, by a single shot over 4 rounds. He should move to world #1 from #4 this week.

Rahm shot 64 64 65 68 -27 for the win and it was worth $1.44m of the $8m purse. Interesting to note Victor Perez of France won slightly more at  the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship on the DP World Tour Rolex Series and when was the last time we could say that.

Thank you LIV Series !!

Meanwhile Adam Hadwin had another top 20 finish at this event where he has been 2nd twice and shot a 59.

He went out on fire -5 31, but ran out of steam on an even par back nine (birdie, bogey) but his -5 67 put him at -20, 268 T18th worth $110,000. (68 69 64 67)

He now drives down the coast to San Diego at Torrey Pines for this week's Farmers Insurance.
