Spieth in control of Hyundai Tournament of Champions

PGA Tour Hyundai Tournament of Champions leaderboard http://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/hyundai-tournament-of-champions/leaderboard.html

What a week to be on holiday in Maui, with a hot sun, a little breeze, blue skies and a Pacific ocean full of amazing sea life that never gets tired.

With these ideal playing conditions and the course running fast the 32 winners from last year are producing some spectacular shot making, none better than Jordan Spieth who has picked up where he left off last year 66 64 -16 130 which is just a shot behind Ernie Els 36 hole record of 129 at Kapalua.

That is 4 shots ahead of 3 players at -12. Kevin Kisner was arguably the player in the best form at the end of 2015 and remember he shook off the bridesmaid tag (second 4 times) with his first win, continued his fine play 69 65, Fabian Gomez playing here for the first time 68 66 and Patrick Reed 65 69 are all on that number.

Kisner is drawn with Spieth in the final group later today.

Kiwi Danny Lee is having a fine week a with his 68 he is at -11 while ever popular Rickie Fowler 67 and Steven Bowditch 67 are both next at -10

There is no cut and it's just as well for a very rusty Jason Day who has been baby sitting for three months and it shows, 69 73 but you know he is going to be much better with a few rounds under his belt.
