Ross McGowan shoots 62 to lead Joburg Open

European/Sunshine Tour Joburg Open leaderboard http://www.europeantour.com/europeantour/season=2016/tournamentid=2016002/leaderboard/index.html?showLeaderboard=Y#h4Fu3exeEWof6yzf.97

On a morning of low scoring, particularly on the west course it was England's Ross McGowan who has the lowest round of the day after he posted a -9 62 for the clubhouse lead at -14 during round two of the Joburg Open.

Due to injury and a resulting loss of form during last five years he has played very little on the big tour. He lost his card in 2011 but finished 5th at Q school this year to regain it and this morning he was in the brilliant form he showed back in 2009 with his first win at the Madrid Masters

With the afternoon wave on the course now, the 33 year old is three shots clear of Felipe Aguilar (65), Haydn Porteous (66) and Anthony Wall who finished T2 here last year behind Andy Sullivan and is once again in contention after an impressive birdie, birdie par, eagle finish on the East Course for 67.
