Kaymer's win at the PGA makes it a 'trifecta' for the EuropeanTour

Remember to vote on the poll question above this blog " Should Corey Pavin select Tiger Woods to his Ryder Cup team ?"  thankyou.

Last year after an article I wrote about a brilliant young German, Martin Kaymer losing the Race To Dubai after he crushed his foot in a go cart accident, Rube (Lorne Rubenstein) sent me a brief email to say " good call on Kaymer, he's a star in the making for sure"

So no surprise to me, or Rube, when he beat the always entertaining Bubba Watson in the playoff to win his first of what should be several majors at the PGA yesterday, and I'm sure no surprise to all of those in the front office at the European Tour over in Surrey.

That is now 3 of 4 majors this year for the Euro's.  Graeme McDowell with the US Open at Pebble Beach, Louis Oosthuizen and his brilliant display at St Andrew's, now Kaymer, and don't forget Lee Westwood was second to Phil Mickelson at Augusta.

The world rankings released today show Mr Kaymer up at #5 now and European Tour members are in 12 of the top 20 spots, which really is making Monty's job of selection for his Celtic Manor squad very difficult.

Having said that, it's a nice problem to have !!
