Englishman Paul Waring leads in Texas..Yellamaraju top Canadian...18 hole results...

PGA Tour : Texas Children's Houston Open..Leaderboard Tee Times

Several years ago the Strategic Alliance was established between the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour who were strengthening their position in the world of golf with the advent of LIV and it's bottomless pit of Saudi money tempting players away.

The rest is history, however one aspect of the Alliance was rewarding the top 10 players on the DP World Tour at the end of the year, dual membership in the US

While this was great news for the players, many in Europe did not support the idea of giving away their top stars, for nothing.

Paul Waring, an unknown English pro on this side of the pond was one of those who won dual membership in 2024. He has had a shoulder injury that sidelined him for 5 months, but is healthy again resulting in an opening -7 63 for the lead on this Memorial course in Houston.

Gary Woodland who has been suffering with mental issues following brain surgery is also feeling better 2nd with -6 64.
