USGA : US Senior Open Tee Times Leaderboard
With a weather warning in the forecast, threatening the final round for most of the afternoon, Paddy Harrington shot 67 -11 269, to edge Stewart Cink who posted a 68,-10 total and stave off a late charge
from last week's winner Miguel Jimenez with the low round of the day, 64 -9 total.
Mark Hensby was in the final 3 for 54 holes, slipped to a 73 to share 4th at -5 with Thomas Bjorn 72.
It is Harrington's 2nd US Senior Open putting him in company with Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Hale Irwin and Bernhard Langer.
"It's all about winning, every time you come out and win, the nerves are still there, the tension is there, you don't want to mess up, winning the US Senior Open helps validate your career."
While he has 2 Open Championships and a PGA Championship on his PGA/European Tour resume, he was never the dominant player he has turned out to be on the Champions Tour where at 53 he has clearly found competing against his peers to his liking. He now has 10 Champions Tour titles in 3 years.
He is now exempt for the next 10 US Opens, winning $800,000 amongst other baubles.
Cink, best remembered for edging fan favourite Tom Watson at the 2009 Open Championship on the eve of Watson's 60th birthday, has now had 20 top 10's in 26 events on the Senior Circuit.
