The top 50 DP World Tour players missing Rahm and Aberg..Full Entry List

 DP World TourEntry List

When you click on the Entry List for the top 50, you will see there are players listed at 51 and 52 in the field.

Jon Rahm
Jon Rahm

That's because Jon Rahm who was ranked #38 declined to play last week at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship citing parental duties for their recent arrival of a 2nd child, a baby daughter, then advised the DP World Tour he would also skip the Tour Championship

He played the bare minimum 4 DP World Tour events Olympics, Alfred Dunhill, Spanish Open and Andalucia Masters to keep his status. He has won the DP World Tour championship 3 times since 2017 but could not have caught Rory McIlroy even if he did show up.

Ludvig Aberg

In addition, Swedish star Ludvig Aberg who has played mainly in the US this year is recovering from knee surgery.

That has allowed Scotsman Connor Syme #51 and Frenchman Francesco Laporta #52 in.

To further confuse the issue, England's Tyrrell Hatton is now a member of LIV however he is committed to play this week, which will be his 6th DP World Tour appearance.

Remember he defended his Dunhill Links championship at St Andrews with his father as the partner, and finished 2nd this week in Abu Dhabi, also gaining Ryder Cup points in the process.

Rory McIlroy is 1800 points ahead of South African Thirston Lawrence who is the only player who can stop the Northern Irishman from tying the great Seve Ballesteros with his 6th Harry Vardon trophy. Rory will have to finish outside 11th with the South African winning.

Colin Montgomerie won 8 of them in his pomp as European Tour ##1.

Top 10 to win PGA Tour cards

The top 10 players after the Tour Championship not already qualified, will be awarded joint PGA Tour / DP World Tour cards, a controversial decision with stalwarts saying the Tour is giving away their best players.

So far Thirston Lawrence, Paul Waring and Rasmus Hojgaard have already won their dual status for 2025.

Niklaus Norgaard, Matteo Manassero, Jesper Svensson look likely to qualify.

Matthieu Pavon won the Farmers Insurance to maintain his PGA Tour status as did Robert MacIntyre by winning the RBC Canadian Open.

Ryan Fox has had a poor year after winning PGA Tour status, and Poland's Adrian Meronk has decided to take the LIV Tour money.

Here are the 10 players who are favourites to win PGA Tour status this year.

Thirston Lawrence, Paul Waring, Rasmus Hojgaard, Thorbjorn Olesen, Matteo Manassero, Jesper Svensson, Niklaus Norgaard, Rikuya Hoshino, Sebastian Söderberg and Jordan Smith
