DP World Tour : Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship: Leaderboard
In his presser yesterday Rory McIlroy praised the condition of the Yas Links at this playoff week at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, but warned, "with less wind than usual, and hot humid weather, I expect a low scoring week ahead"
As round one in the books, he was spot on, lead is -10 62 held by Tommy Fleetwood with Thorbjorn Olesen, and Johannes Veerman T2 -9 63
Only 4 of the 70 players were over par 72.
Rory is in at -5 67, T18
Aaron Cockerill had a lot of crooked numbers on his card. After a splendid 4 birdie front nine, -3, 33 he began his back nine double bogey, birdie, bogey, hole-in-one at the 156 yard par3 13th, on his way to 36 for a final -3 69 T35.
Remember, the top 50 will play in the Tour Championship finale next week, so Aaron is currently projected at #48, with 3 rounds and more of the same weather forecast to go.
