PGA Tour Champions: Dick's Sporting Goods Open...
It's been a while since we heard from Mike Weir, but after 2 rounds of this Champions Tour event in Endicott, New York he's on top of his game with rounds of 67 65 -12 for a 1 shot lead heading into today's final round.
He posted 7 birdies in 8 holes on his way to the 65, after play was suspended for 2 hours from 2pm -4pm. It's the same hot muggy, thunder storm embedded system that we have here in Toronto.
It was his lowest round this year and the 4th time he's posted it in his career.
Weirsy is looking for his 2nd Champions Tour win, the last in 2021, the Insperity Classic which was shortened to 36 holes.
He'll be in the final pairing today with Paddy Harrington 66 67 -11 who has found new life on the senior circuit since turning 50. He recently won the US Senior Open.
