Alena Sharp has gone out and shot 66 67 -9 to sit T2 going into the weekend at the Meijer LPGA Classic along with South Korean players In Gee Chun, So Yeon Ryu and Q Baek.
The world's top 2 players, Lydia Ko and Brooke Henderson, coming off a playoff victory over Ko in the KPMG Women’s PGA, are at -7 after rounds of 67 68 to T13.
Henderson played her final nine holes in -4 after a slow start and remember she has 10 top-10 finishes this season and has her parents with her in Michigan this week.
“It was much warmer out today, a beautiful day,” Henderson said. “I started out not as well as I would have liked, 1 over for the front nine, but I made a lot of birdies on the back and go 4 under, so overall it was a pretty steady day. I know I have some work to do on the weekend, but I’m looking forward to it.”
The leader is another young star and the defending champion, 21-year-old Lexi Thompson who shot a -4 67, to go with her opening 65 to reach -10 132. She has a sore back this week so we'll see how it holds up over the weekend.
Maude Aimee LeBlanc has shot 70 69 -3 T39 so she will play on the weekend while Samantha Richdale and Anne Catherine Tanguay missed the cut.
