For all of you with British blood in your veins, you know how rare it is to get a dead flat calm sunny day at 25*c at the seaside.
That's is the scene at Hoylake, just south of Liverpool, huge crowds basking, the pictures don't really portray the sights, sounds and in particular the smell of the salt sea air...
The tide is coming in for the afternoon flight and the breeze will pick up a little but the leaderboard is great. http://www.theopen.com/
Brooks Koepka, and the Molinari brothers are in with -4 68's for the clubhouse lead. Rory is at -5 through 12 holes, Matteo Manassero has just joined him. Sergio, Jim Furyk are amongst a gaggle at -4 on course.
David Hearn is at -2 through 12 and Graham DeLaet is off at 1254..
Tiger made bogey's at 1 and 2 but has fought back and is at -2 as well through 15
