Sand storm, lightning suspends play Qatar Commercial Bank Masters... live scoreboard

DP World Tour : Qatar Commercial Bank Masters Leaderboard  Tee Times

The Scottish flag is all over the leaderboard in Qatar, with 4 players in the top 3. Scott Jamieson -7 65 shares clubhouse lead with Kiwi Daniel Hillier, defending champion Ewen Ferguson, Stephen Gallagher and Robert MacIntyre all T3 -6 66.

Jamieson began play ranked #119 in the Race to Dubai, so is one of many who need a big week to crack the top 116.

They all were out early before the vaunted desert wind whipped up, driven by a weather cell with thunder and lightning suspended play with the late wave still on course.

Round 1will continue at 630am local time on Friday.

Aaron Cockerill

Canada's Aaron Cockerill has had a solid start T24 -2 70. He began on #10, out in E 36 with 2 bogey's and 2 birdies. He made par 5's on the first and 9th, but reeled off 3 birdies with a lone bogey on the 4th when he drew a bad lie in the rough with his tee shot and had to lay up from 115 yards.

As I mentioned yesterday he begins this last event of the regular season 80th on the money list with the top 116 getting their 2024 DP World Tour cards, so his playing privileges' are secure unlike last year when the Cockerill family friends and sponsors were on tender hooks as he final got in at #106.
