With another day in the 3 course Dunhill Links Championship Ryder Cup star, US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick leads by a shot at -13 67 64 on St Andrews
Canadas Aaron Cockerill rallied with 3 birdies on his last 5 holes at the Old Course, however with 3 bogeys and a double his 72 73 +1 has him well out of contention at T116 with a round to go in the wind and rain at Carnoustie on Saturday before the last 60 and ties on Saturday night play the Old Course for the title on Sunday in the wind..
However at #71 in the Race to Dubai and the year winding down he seems certain to retain his card for 2024 on the DP World Tour despite his indifferent play of late..
There are only 8 players within 4 shots of the lead heading into Saturday..
