Many who know Corey Connors, still remember him driving the golf ball cart around the driving range as a teenager at his home town Listowel GC, up in North Perthshire, Ontario about 125km NW of Toronto.

A quiet unassuming kid with a terrific golf swing, but who knew he'd rise to #26 in the world, with the best ball striking reputation of them all and a place in the International Team for the Presidents Cup.

It seemed like yesterday when he won the Shell Houston Open in 2015 to qualify for the Masters, with his longtime girlfriend, now wife Mallory making social media headlines around the word with her smiles of disbelief.

Now qualified for this week's Tour Championship after his T5 at the BMW Championship he's about to cash in again after a very lucrative season and in fact playoff run. 

He's made just a smidge under $3,310,000 so far. In his 8th season since turning pro in 2013 his career earnings are $12,212,000

Last week Corey talked about the goals he'd set for himself. Making a spot in the Presidents Cup (6th)  has now been achieved. Making the season ending tour championship was another.

He starts play in Atlanta in 24th place at 12.15pm.
