In Canada, interest for this year's Presidents Cup at Liberty National Golf Course in Jersey City, N.J., dominated by the USA team, took a real shot in the arm earlier this week when Adam Hadwin grabbed the 10th spot to cap of what has been a great year for the young man from Abbotsford, BC.
He joined the vaunted 59 club, captured his first PGA Tour win last March at the Valspar Championship, married his longtime girlfriend Jessica and bought their first home together in Phoenix and played at the Masters. He has earned over US$3.2 million this season. He's 16th on the money list with two events remaining and has risen to 45th in the world rankings.
Mike Weir is an assistant to captain Nick Price this year, and as always the USA team start as heavy favourites despite having 4 rookies in the squad.
