Bernhard Langer wins the Senior Open at Royal Porthcawl

Senior Open final leaderboard https://www.europeantour.com/en/seniortour/tournaments/2017/senior-open-championship-presented-by-rolex/#leaderboard

In the end only 2 players broke par after 4 days of this Senior Open at Royal Porthcawl GC. Thursday and particularly Friday were in some of the worst playing conditions, torrential rain and howling winds coming in off the Irish Sea and the Bristol Channel. Saturday was as nice as it gets in Cardiff, and today was sunny with the breeze getting up to 25kph at times.

Bernhard Langer won here by 13 shots in 2014, and today he did it again shooting a +1 72 for a -4 total and a 3 shot win over Corey Pavin (71) -1 total.

Freddie Couples 68, Billy Andrade 68 and Aussie Peter Lonard 71 all T3 at E.

Langer never did win the claret jug in his illustrious international career, finishing in the top 3 four times, but since he turned 50 he has won 10 majors and he joins Gary Player and Tom Watson as the only players to have won the Senior Open three times.
