Six Canadians playing this weekend at the Mayakoba Golf Classic
PGA Tour Mayakoba Golf Classic is this week's stop on the PGA Tour where Brendon Todd returns to defend his title.
There are six Canadians who have flown down to the El Camaleon GC, par 71, 7039 yards in Playa del Carmen, Mexico including Monday qualifier Drew Nesbitt of Shanty Bay, Ont., who shot -6 66 to grab one of 4 spots. He joins Adam Hadwin, Roger Sloan, Corey Connors, Michael Gligic and David Hearn.
You'll remember the low amateur at the Masters, Andy Ogletree. He has turned pro to start his bank account and makes his debut. Justin Thomas and Brooks Koepka are the highest ranked player

South African Christian Bezuidenhout wins at Leopard Creek.. final scoreboard

Christian Bezuidenhout claimed his second European Tour title as a brilliantly composed bogey-free back nine of 34 handed him a four shot victory at the 2020 Alfred Dunhill Championship.
The home favourite entered the final day at Leopard Creek Country Club three shots off the lead and despite making a double and a bogey on the front nine to turn in 35, he had trimmed that gap to one at the turn.
As the rest of the leading contenders fought for their maiden victories, Bezuidenhout then used all of his experience to card three birdies on the way home in a 69 to finish at 14 under, clear of England's Richard Bland, American Sean Crocker, Pole Adrian Meronk and South African Jayden Schaper.
Bezuidenhout's route to the top has been a remarkable one, as he revealed in a European Tour Player Blog in March of last year.
He nearly died after accidentally drinking rat poison as a child, an event that saw him develop a stutter and anxiety, the medication for which led to him being handed a ban as an amateur.
Bezuidenhout was cleared of using any form of drug to enhance his performance, but his nine month exile from the game meant he missed the Eisenhower Trophy..

Poland's Adrian Meronk makes history, leads Alfred Dunhill Championship. Cockerill misses cut.. live scoreboard
Adrian Meronk continued to make European Tour history as he opened up a three shot lead heading into the weekend at the 2020 Alfred Dunhill Championship
The 27-year-old became the first Polish player to share the lead at a European Tour event after his first round 65 and when he followed it with a 66 on day two at Leopard Creek Country Club, he was the first Pole to hold a solo lead.
Meronk is becoming a true trailblazer for the game in his homeland, having already become the first Polish player to hold full European Tour playing privileges when he graduated from the European Challenge Tour last term, winning the 57° Open de Portugal @ Morgado Golf Resort en route.
He may have just 28 European Tour events and two top tens under his belt so far, but he looked every inch the seasoned veteran in Malelane, moving to 13 under to sit ahead of England's Richard Bland and Dane Joachim B. Hansen.
Frenchman Robin Roussel and home favourite Jayden Schaper were then at eight under, a shot clear of Spaniard Adri Arnaus, South African Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Scotland's Scott Jamieson.

European / PGA Tours announce a Strategic Alliance
The European Tour and PGA TOUR today heralded a significant new era for global golf with an historic announcement of a Strategic Alliance.
The landmark agreement will see golf’s two major Tours explore all facets of collaboration, working together on strategic commercial opportunities including collaborating on global media rights in certain territories.
This will come through part of the agreement which sees the PGA TOUR acquire a minority investment stake in European Tour Productions (ETP), the European Tour’s Media Production company, which produces and distributes content internationally.
The Tours will also work in partnership on a number of other areas including global scheduling, prize funds and playing opportunities for the respective memberships. Further details of these areas will be announced in due course.
One element of the partnership which can be confirmed today is the fact that PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan will take a seat on the Board of the European Tour.
Keith Pelley, Chief Executive of the European Tour, said: “This partnership is an historic moment for the game of golf and is a fantastic opportunity for both the European Tour and the PGA TOUR to explore ways to come together at the very pinnacle of our sport and work in unison for the benefit of the men’s professional game.
“Today’s announcement is the formalisation of a closer working relationship between the Tours in recent years. It was one which was crystalised earlier this year when both Jay and I were part of the working group containing representatives of the four Majors and the LPGA, a group which helped shape the remainder of the golfing calendar for 2020 during unprecedented times.
“We shared the challenges of working through a year neither of us could have ever imagined and we found definite synergies in many areas of our respective Tours. That gave us the impetus to move forward together and arrive at this momentous announcement we are making today.”

Tee times for Aaron Cockerill and the Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek
Aaron Cockerill from Winnipeg, and his fiance /caddy Chelsea have driven the four hours from Johannesburg (JoBurg Open ) where he T4 and moved up nearly 100 spots in the OWR to 391, in winning $62,000, to the Alfred Dunhill Championship 2020 at the spectacular Leopard Creek CC right across the Crocodile River from Kruger National Park.

Solid weekend for Cockerill, Connors and Henderson.... final scoreboards.... shovelling snow !!
After Mother Nature caught many of us, including me with our pants down on Sunday in the GTA, 20cm here, I have to hustle out to clean up the big mess this morning. I was mulching leaves on Friday, snow blower still under wraps, with a mostly rain forecast for Sunday.

Anyhow I wrote about Aaron Cockerill's T4 at the JoBurg Open yesterday, well done. He has moved up from #481 to #391
Corey Connors finished 64, T10 -15 at the RSM Classic his 3rd top 10 in a row, remember he had a great Masters T10. Roger Sloan T23 -11 with 64... Final scoreboard is here
