PGA Tour : RBC Heritage Tee Times Leaderboard
There isn't a hotter golfer in the game than Matt "Fitzy" Fitzpatrick, consider this English stars' last 3 outings. Players Championship 2nd 70 69 69 68 -12... Valspar 1st 68 69 68 68 -11.... Masters T18 74 69 70 71-4.
Summary
Matt Fitzpatrick won the post-Masters Heritage event in a play-off in 2023
With 65 and a Friday bogey free, 8 birdie 63 -14 he was the class of the field by as round 2 wrapped up. He played with Scheffler both rounds, and was 7 shots better.
However still playing well he made 3 bogey's in his first 6 holes on Saturday while Scheffler made his expected charge with 5 birdies in that span to get back in contention, ultimately ending with -7 64 -14 2nd.
Fitzy had opened the door and let the field in...
As we know he got back on track with a birdie at the the 9th, another at the 12th then the eagle 3 at 14, and the chip in birdie at 15, for -3 68 and the lead by 3 at -17.
Sunday
Let's be honest about Sunday. Most of the American media, and fans not reknown for having a world wide lens on the game, expect #1 Scheffler to win today.
I dare say the other day's other contenders, Si Woo Kim -13, Sepp Straka -13 as well as Fitzpatrick are virtually unknown to the general American public.
Of course deep down that is exactly part of what fuels not only Europeans and the Ryder Cup team, but others from around the world as well.
Nobody knows today's outcome, but on this form Fitzy just has to play his game, with a 3 shot lead he'll be tough to beat unless he open's the door again !!
Canadians

Sudarshan Yellamaraju T52 74 66 71 68 -5
Corey Conners T58 67 69 73 71 -4,
Nick Taylor T68 69, 70 70 72 -3
EDIT >>>>1.55pm EST.. Taylor Pendrith T71 74 75 63 E (with 3 birdies, 1 bogey going out in 34, but then 6 birdies in his last 7 holes and a back nine 29, Pendy breaks out with the 2nd lowest round of the day -8 63 !!)
FINAL EDIT >>> 6.30pm EST
"There isn't a hotter golfer in the game than Matt "Fitzy" Fitzpatrick, consider this English stars' last 3 outings. Players Championship 2nd 70 69 69 68 -12... Valspar 1st 68 69 68 68 -11.... Masters T18 74 69 70 71-4."
Matt Fitzpatrick had a three-shot lead over Scottie Scheffler at the start of the final round
Now you can add RBC Heritage 1st 65 63 6 70 -18.
Just look at my headline about Matt Fitzpatrick, being fuelled by all the expectation that Scheffler would win this today, now fast forward to the playoff hole, after a sublime 4 iron right on line into a stiff breeze that nearly hit the pin, as he holed the 13 footer for birdie and the win, he put his finger behind his ear, saying I can't hear you" !!!
Matt will now play with his younger brother Alex for fun next week in New Orleans as the #3 ranked player in the world, behind Rory who also beat Scheffler, at the Masters last week.
As Scheffler said after the round " Matt played with me 3 times this week and he was doing everything, long putts, chipping in, and made a great birdie there at the last, he deserved to win"
With his wife Katherine expecting their 1st child this summer, these are the times of their lives right now.
