The LPGA board of directors were unanimous in naming Princeton Athletic Director, Mollie Marcoux Samaan as their new commissioner, replacing the Mike Whan who has departed for the USGA.
She is the ninth Commish since the tour began in 1950.
Julie Inkster, now a member of the Search Committee said " Our search process was disciplined and thorough. We were impressed and honoured by the large number of quality leaders interested in tha LPGA. But in the end Mollie stood above the rest.
Mollie said " The LPGA Commissioner role is one of the best jobs in spoerts today and the opportunity of a lifetime. I'm passionate about the game of golf and have been an LPGA fan since I was a little girl.
She will begin here transition over the next few weeks.
