R&A : the 152nd Open at Royal Troon....Leaderboard
Mother Nature as she so often does has taken a strong hand in round 1 at Royal Troon. Enough wind, not nearly a gale, and a steady, more than expected rain, along with the age old challenge at Royal Troon has proved more than a stern test for the 158 who were led by past champion Justin Leonard off the first this morning.
With the round winding down the clubhouse lead is -3 68 by Justin Thomas.
As I post just 19 players are under par.
However consider this: Tiger is +4 thru 10, Rory McIlroy +7 78, Rickie Fowler +8 79, Ernie Els +10 81 Fleetwood, DeChambeau, Kim, Homa, Clark all +5 76..to name a few..
