Stephen Ames is off the 1st tee at 10am local time, as the Champions Tour continues in the American mid west with the Principal Charity Classic for the 8th time at the Wakonda Club. They are celebrating 20 years in Des Moines.
Kevin Sutherland came from 8 shots back to beat Scott Parel in a playoff in 2019. Alex Cjeka who has won the last two events, both majors is in the field.
Mike Weir (10.35am) has had 2 top 5's in his last 3 starts including his win at the Insperity Invitational. Last week at the Senior PGA he led by 4 shots after 36 holes, ended up T5. He is currently 9th in Charles Schwab standings, and after 16 starts has 7 top 10's and 5 top 5's.
