Tiger Woods has won at Torrey Pines 8 times in his heyday. Nowadays in the twilight of his career he has to grind just to make the cut which he did on the 18th hole on Friday and on Saturday he added a -2 70 to his tally of 72 71 70 and at -3 T39 is eight shots behind the leader, Swede Alex Noren 70 66 69 -11 who has a home in Florida, but has spent most of his time on the European Tour.
After Tiger's return the main story was big John Rahm, who won last week and is defending his championship here at the Farmers Insurance this week. With a win he will cap a meteoric 4 months to become the world #1.
However he slipped from T2 to T12 with a +3 75 and at -7 will need a big Sunday to win.
Canadians: Ben Silverman (76 E T62), Corey Conners (70 -7 T17) , Adam Hadwin (72 -3 T39) while Nick Taylor (79, 76th) Mac Hughes and David Hearn missed the cut.
