Sergio Garcia ties for early lead at windy Honda Classic..

PGA Tour Honda Classic leaderboard http://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/the-honda-classic/leaderboard.html

Even when he isn't scoring well the trademark of Sergio Garcia's game has been solid driving, great iron play and a seemingly typical Spanish flair around the greens. He is one of the game's best ball strikers. It's his putter that has been his Achilles tendon..

On Thursday in only his 3rd start of 2016, he got off to a great start holing out from 140 yards into the wind on the second hole for an eagle on a cool windy (30 mph.) Florida morning, missed another eagle on 18 for -5 65 to share the lead with Michael Thompson who won here in 2013.

They are one shot ahead of Rickie Fowler (66) and William McGirt (66)

Phil Mickelson who was T2 last week kept up his recent form with -1 69 in the heaviest of the wind, as the early wave got the worst of the day.

Rory had a frustrating day finishing with a 3 putt bogey after a double at 14
and a bogey at 16 for +2 72.

Rickie with his now trademark high tops is back after a week off playing golf with his pals. Remember he blew a two-shot lead to let Hideki Matsuyama beat him in a playoff two weeks ago in Phoenix. He had the only bogey free round of the day.

Canadian scores:  Adam Hadwin had a -2 68 T10,
Graham DeLaet +2 72 T65, Mike Weir had a +5 75, David Hearn +7 77
