Jason Day continues to amaze us all..

BMW Championship leaderboard http://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/bmw-championship/leaderboard.html

First I have to tell you the Conway Farms course is soft and yielding and the weather has been flat calm, the field is firing darts, not golf balls. The average score is -3 68.

Jordan Spieth has shot 65 66 and is 7 shots off the lead, Rory McIlroy 68 65 and he is 9 behind, all because Jason Day has tied the PGA Tour 36 hole scoring record with 61 63 -18.

Daniel Berger and Brendon Todd, have shot 64 and 63 to trail by 5 shots.

Heavy rain suspended the opening round, so Day returned earlyFriday needing to hole short chip shot for an eagle that would have given him a 59. He didn't make it, finishing with the 61, then later in the day was applauded by his playing partners Spieth and Fowler when he poured in an eagle for his 63, Spieth saying afterwards "I felt like I should be paying to watch this "

Day is -97 since he won our RBC Canadian Open, and speaking of which the guy he beat, DavidHearn posted a -2 69 T56.

Conway Farms played at 6,892 yards Friday and several of par-4 holes are reachable with driver, “the par for us out here should be 67 or 66,” said Rory McIlroy, who called his 65 only “a decent score.”
