Another Sunday for the "good old boys" at the RBC Heritage.

After last Sunday's drama, and all the subsequent publicity for good old boy Bubba Watson, today may make 2 in a row for the good old boys..

Carl Pettersson who is from Sweden, lives in Raleigh, North Carolina is a shot ahead -12 of Colt Knost -11 who is from Garretsville Ohio and lives in Dallas, so hardly redneck country but just look at them.

Pettersson who won our Canadian Open 2 years ago at St George's, after shooting 60 in round 2 after 7 or so beers with his caddy the night before loosened him up has a beer belly that belies his deadly accurate game ( he leads this week in GIR) and Colt is generously listed at 5'9" 215 pounds, more a physique seen on any public track across the golf universe, than the cookie cutter flat bellies that populate the PGA Tour these days. Doesn't "Colt Knost" just sound like an ice cold pilsner ??

Of course if you want a genuine good old boy, sitting in 4th place just 5 shots back at -7 is Boo Weekley, the winner here in 2007, 2008. Here's a guy who likes nothing better than getting into a bottle of Jack Daniels with his buddies, then going out to find an alligator to wrestle !!

Canadians Stephen Ames had a nifty little 66 yesterday and is T24, and Graham Delaet is T53 after 73.

FINAL SUNDAY WRAP****

Carl Pettersson, who puts the belly in belly putter has just won the RBC Heritage Open, to continue his Canadian connection, after winning the RBC Canadian Open at St George's in 2010.

His final round of 69 -14 was 5 shots clear of Zack Johnson (70) and  6 better than Colt Knost  who slipped up with a 74 -8 total. After Pettersson made birdie at the first, added another at 4 then  another at 5 he was suddenly 4 shots clear after Knost's chances all but ended with a horrible drive out of bounds left on No. 3 that led to a triple-bogey seven and out of contention.

Pettersson has been 2nd twice this year at the Sony and 2 weeks ago at the Shell so has been in form but he
remembered 2009, when he felt like he needed to trim down to play better. He worked out more, ate right, dropped 30 pounds, and couldn't swing the club. He vowed to beef up and rediscover his game. The regimen?
"Well, you drink 10 beers and (eat) a tub of ice cream before bed," Pettersson said. "That puts it on quickly."

He is now tied with Jesper Parnevik for the most PGA Tour wins by a Swede with 5.

So it was a weekend for the good old boys, guys who never see the fitness trailer, Pettersson 1st , Knost 3rd, Kevin Stadler T4, with Billy Mayfair, throw in Boo Weekley T6.... maybe they are on to something, or as Pettersson said " maybe all those other guys are overdoing it !!"

Canadians....Stephen Ames T29 after a 74 +1 total and Graham Delaet was T44 72, +3 total.
