Julien Sale produced a dominant final round performance to secure victory at the HotelPlanner Tour’s Grand Final, while Hamish Brown topped the Road to Mallorca Rankings.

The Frenchman, who was guaranteed of promotion to the DP World Tour before the season finale in Mallorca, posted his second 65 of the week to reach 22 under par, four strokes clear of the Dane, who narrowly held onto solo second to capture the season-long title.

Sale ends the year second on the Rankings and will now step up to the DP World Tour for the first time in his career. He becomes the fifth player from France to win the Grand Final.  

"Coming this week, I didn’t have much stress because I knew I was inside the top 15 and the goal was to and win the tournament and obviously try to finish number one on the ranking and to do that," he said.

"I was going to have fun already this morning for tonight but now I'm going to enjoy it even more with my family here.

"It was a tough day today because obviously a lot of pressure and I knew that if you guys behind me, were going to play well and try to catch me but I'm really happy with how I played."

Brown becomes the fifth Dane to win the Road to Mallorca Rankings after Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen (2024), Marcus Helligkilde (2021), Joachim B Hansen (2018) and Thomas Bjørn (1995).

The 27-year-old posted a closing -5 67 in Alcúdia to reach -18 for the week and held onto solo second after South African MJ Daffue saw his birdie putt slide by on the 72nd hole.

"It means a lot," said Brown.

"It's been a proper grind again today, just like last Sunday. It gives me a lot of confidence. I had a tough year last year on the DP World Tour, but I wasn't too far away, I thought, and it's just moments throughout a season that needs to go your way and I'm not I'm not scared of it for next year. 

I'm quite looking forward to it because I know what it what it is now. I know what I need to do and not to do. I'm trying to just expect more of myself."

TOP 15 PROMOTED

Dutchman Lars van der Vight, a two-time HotelPlanner Tour winner this season, ends the year as #3, with another two-time victor, Sweden’s Christofer Blomstrand, #4.

MJ Daffue, who won twice at the start of the year in South Africa and India, rounds out the top 5,  with Spaniard Pablo Ereño #6. Tapio Pulkkanen #7 returns to the DP World Tour at the first time of asking and is joined by Adam Wallin #8, Liam Nolan #9 and John Gough #10

Sebastian Friedrichsen ends the year in #11 after sealing his breakthrough win in Portugal and is joined by Englishman Will Enefer #12

Marc Warren delivered during the back nine on Sunday with a tied for fifth finish helping him climb seven places to #13. Andrew Wilson ends the year in #14 while Frenchman Maxence Giboudot held onto the all-important #15 position to confirm his spot on DP World Tour for the first time.

Mac Hughes closing in on Tour card, Novak cruises to win Mexico Open..Final results

American Andrew Novak was in great shape for this first individual win on the PGA Tour at -23 190 with his accurate driving, iron play and a hot putter he tied the course record -10 61 on Friday, then add a weekend 62 69 -25 to cruise to victory by 5 shots. 

He moves from 89 to #53 on the FedEx points list, with a solid chance of the first 2 signature events in 2027 and more importantly spot in the upper Championship series in 2028.

Canadian Mac Hughes has had his fair share of frustration this year, but this weekend he found his form and held it over 4 rounds, 65 67 67 66 -19 T4 and that has him in a good spot at a projected #101 to crack the top 100 who will get their 2027 cards..

" This gives me a bit of momentum going into the last three, I know I still need more points, need to keep climbing, but this week was a big step in the right direction"

Fellow Canadian AJ Ewart is also nicely placed at a projected #104

Julien Sale will take a one-stroke lead into the final round of the Grand Final as he edged closer to becoming the second Frenchman to top the Road to Mallorca Rankings.

The one-time HotelPlanner Tour winner, who entered the week 7th on the season-long race, carded a -2 third round of 70 to move to -15, one-stroke clear of England’s Charlie Forster 66, American John Catlin 68, and South African MJ Daffue 67, all chasing at -14.

Having turned at level par, the 2026 Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge winner picked up his second birdie of the day on the 11th before adding one more birdie on the 15th to pull clear at the top.

"It was tougher today with the wind. It was a lot trickier, but I hung in there," he said.

"The front nine played tough but I managed to make a few birdies on the back nine and finish under par to keep the lead so I’m happy with today."

"Patience is important out there, especially on the front nine as it’s the harder of the two nines. You know the back nine is going to present opportunities," he added.

"Unfortunately, the putter wasn’t as hot as I would’ve liked but I still made a few and I’m happy with the way I handled myself today."

Forster made the most notable charge on moving day, mixing seven birdies with one dropped shot to sign for an impressive -6 66. The Englishman is embarking on his rookie HotelPlanner Tour season and will become the first player from the Global Amateur Pathway Rankings to earn promotion to the DP World Tour via the Road to Mallorca.

"I hit the ball really well off the tee again so set up those opportunities was really key out there," he said.

"I can’t wait to get out there tomorrow. I’ve got a lot of family and friends watching so I’m sure they’re going to be up for it too. I’m just going to treat it as a normal tournament and if it happens there’s a great reward at the end."

Denmark’s Hamish Brown, who started the week in the Number One berth, holds solo fifth on -13,  one stroke ahead of Italian Matteo Cristoni, Scot Marc Warren, Spaniard Joseba Torres and Dutchman Lars van der Vight, all -12.

The Grand Final is the 28th and final event on the HotelPlanner Tour’s 2026 Road to Mallorca schedule, with the 45-man field competing for one of 15 DP World Tour cards on offer.

You may remember he teamed up with Ben Griffin to win the Zurich Classic in New Orleans last year. 

Canadian Mac Hughes has had his fair share of frustration this year, however he remains optimistic in a recent interview with my former colleague Bob Weeks, and so far his 65 67 67 -14 T7 has him in a good spot at a projected #109 to crack the top 100 who will get their 2027 cards..

The cut fell at -4 on this resort course at VidantaWorld, that is not providing much of a test to this PGA Tour field this week.

The average score is nearly -3 on a par 71.

Julien Sale produced a back nine birdie blitz on his way to a second round -7 65 to take a one-stroke lead into the weekend of the Grand Final at Club de Golf Alcanada.

The Frenchman mixed ten birdies with three dropped shots on Friday in Alcúdia to reach -13 at the halfway stage, one shot ahead of Dutchman Lars van der Vight.

The Grand Final is the 28th and final event on the HotelPlanner Tour’s 2026 Road to Mallorca schedule, with the 45-man field competing for one of 15 DP World Tour cards on offer.

"Today was a great round, and I cannot believe I made ten birdies," he said.

"I’ve been playing really well and managed to make a couple of putts which was nice. I had a couple of mistakes, but the birdies were there."

Sale is assured of promotion to the DP World Tour following a fine campaign which has included a breakthrough victory and five further top ten finishes. After taking charge in Mallorca, Sale is now projected to top the season-long Rankings and become the first Frenchman to achieve the feat since Mike Lorenzo-Vera 19 years ago.

Van der Vight also showed his fire power on Friday, matching Sale’s effort with a bogey-free 65 of his own, helping him to -12 and solo second.

Overnight leader Joseba Torres also kept pace with a -4 effort meaning he’s one back of the Dutchman on -11 under. The Spaniard, who has uncle José María Olazábal mentoring him this week, requires a sixth place finish to keep his hopes of promotion to Golf’s Global Tour alive.

The third round of the Grand Final will get under way from 10:38am on Saturday, with Sale teeing off alongside Van der Vight and Torres at 12:02pm.

All you need to know ahead of the 2026 Abu Dhabi Championship.

How do the DP World Tour Play-Offs work?

The Abu Dhabi Championship marks the first event of the DP World Tour Play-Offs, introduced for the first time as part of a new-look schedule in 2024.

Alongside the season-ending DP World Tour Championship, which follows a week later, they are the final sprint of the Race to Dubai season.

After 40 events across 25 countries, the top 70 on the Race to Dubai Rankings will vie to make it through to the season finale in Dubai, where the leading 50 available players will compete.

History of the event

Founded in 2006, the Abu Dhabi Championship celebrated its 20th edition in 2025.

The tournament is organised by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council in collaboration with the DP World Tour.

In 2019, it was elevated to join the Rolex Series before it became a part of the season-ending DP World Tour Play-Offs in 2024.

Who is in the field?

The top 70 available players on the Race to Dubai Rankings Delivered by DP World will compete at the first event of the DP World Tour's end of season showpiece.

Keep across the DP World Tour website for updates on player announcements, with the full field set to be announced shortly after the conclusion of the Genesis Championship in October.

The venue

The Abu Dhabi Championship moved to Yas Links for the first time in 2022, after a 16-year stay at Abu Dhabi Golf Club.

Designed by Kyle Phillips and opened in 2010, Yas Links - a European Tour Destinations venue - has been described by its creator as the first true links golf course in the Middle East.

What happened last year?

Aaron Rai claimed his second Rolex Series crown at the 2025 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship after beating fellow Englishman Tommy Fleetwood in a play-off.

Although he missed a good chance to win inside 72 holes on the 18th green, he made no mistake with his birdie putt at the first extra hole to become a three-time DP World Tour winner.

Rai, who won his first Rolex Series title at the 2020 Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open, made a total of seven birdies - including four in a row from the fourth - and two bogeys in his closing 67 to reach 25 under par, while Fleetwood produced a bogey-free 66 that featured an eagle and four birdies.

The Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship will launch the DP World Tour Play-Offs next week as the Race to Dubai title challenge heats up, with an elite field set to gather at Yas Links.

Eugenio Chacarra leads the Race to Dubai Rankings Delivered by DP World ahead of the DP World Tour Play-Offs

Following the climax of the Genesis Championship on Sunday, the top 70 available players on the Race to Dubai Rankings, will tee it up in the first of back-to-back Rolex Series events from November 5-8.

Eugenio Chacarra leads the season-long standings, with Patrick Reed, Rory McIlroy and Casey Jarvis his closest pursuers in the battle for the Harry Vardon Trophy.

Aaron Rai, who rounds out the top five, returns to Abu Dhabi for his title defence as one of six Major Champions, alongside Reed, McIlroy, Adam Scott, Jon Rahm and Francesco Molinari.

Chacarra is the sole three-time winner this season and he will hope to add a Rolex Series title to his CV as he bids to become the third Spanish winner of the Race to Dubai after countrymen Jon Rahm and Seve Ballesteros.

Reed, who is bidding to become the second American winner of the Race to Dubai after Collin Morikawa, is one of nine Rolex Series winners in action having won his first earlier this year at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

McIlroy has won the Race to Dubai in each of the past four years and victory this season would see him claim the season-long crown for a record-equalling eighth time.

Past champions Tommy Fleetwood and Tyrrell Hatton will return to the alongside Major Champion Adam Scott.

Fleetwood will be chasing a third Abu Dhabi title, having won back-to-back editions in 2017 and 2018. His first victory featured a chip-in eagle at the tenth as he edged Dustin Johnson and Pablo Larrazábal by one shot, before a closing 65 secured his second title 12 months later.

The Dubai resident and World #6 went on to win the Race to Dubai in 2017 and the inaugural Dubai Invitational in 2024, before claiming the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup last year.

Hatton, the 2021 Abu Dhabi champion, has five Rolex Series titles to his name, including victories at Abu Dhabi Golf Club and the Hero Dubai Desert Classic in 2025.

Scott adds further Major-winning pedigree to the field. The 2013 Masters champion became the first Australian to win the Green Jacket and has recorded more than 30 professional victories worldwide, having also reached World Number One. He will be joined by fellow Masters champion Jon Rahm, who won at Augusta National in 2023 and will make his debut at Yas Links.

Yuto Katsuragawa will also tee it up after securing his place in the Play-Offs with victory at the Genesis Championship in South Korea. joined by Jayden Schaper, Husqvarna British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo champion Joe Dean, and Dubai Invitational winner Nacho Elvira, alongside 2026 PGA Tour winners Kristoffer Reitan and Stefano Mazzoli, and Back Nine winners Thriston Lawrence, Adrian Meronk and Grant Forrest.

Gregorio De Leo is the lone player set for their Rolex Series debut, having earned his playing rights through Qualifying School for the second consecutive time last year.

Four Qualifying School graduates are in the UAE, with Davis Bryant, Daniel Rodrigues and Nathan Kimsey also taking their place, with Italian pair Stefano Mazzoli and Filippo Celli having qualified as graduates of the HotelPlanner Tour's Class of 2025.

Jordan Gumberg is the last man in the field at the close of entries, with players representing 22 nationalities set to tee it up at the penultimate event of the season.

Yuto Katsuragawa proved patience was a virtue as he claimed his second DP World Tour title at the 2026 Genesis Championship.

The Japanese player began the week at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club in 106th on the Race to Dubai Rankings delivered by DP World, with the top 100 after the event earning their playing rights for next season.

However, Katsuragawa blitzed the field on Moving Day as he matched the course record of 63 to open up a two-shot advantage heading into final round.

He could not get his Sunday going as he carded just one birdie, at the fourth, but minimised blots on his scorecard with 16 pars before a closing bogey for a total of -13.

It mattered not as he earned a two-shot victory over French duo Frederic Lacroix and Martin Couvra both -11, who sealed their places in the playoffs with a T2.

"After the first win, I had such a hard time, struggling with that time, but having the second win, this is definitely the greatest moment of my life," Katsuragawa, who has also sealed his spot in both playoff events, said.

"Yes I was nervous, not just for the victory but also about the seed for the DP World Tour so it was double nervous for me but I think I got through.

"I had a good image from the first victory, I just kept that good feeling about it and I came for the second win.

"I'm very happy because to play on the DP World Tour is something I need in my life and I am very happy to play in Dubai."

Pressure ramped up on Katsuragawa when he got out of position with his first and third shots at the last, he had three putts for victory and he celebrated his first crown in over two years after tapping in the second for bogey.

Open Champion Ryan Fox was joined at -10 by Rozner, Jarvis, Italian Filippo Celli, Spain's Jorge Campillo and home duo Sanghun Shin and Si Woo Kim for a T4. 

NUMBER 100

At the other end of the field American Sean Crocker gave us all the emotional full picture of what life on the DP World Tour can be like when you are struggling to keep your card.

He has shot 72 71 69 68 -4 to claim the last spot at #100 and get his full playing rights for 2027.

"That was probably one of the better back nines I've ever played with circumstances and everything going on there, it was pretty good.

"Those final two tee-shots on 17 and 18 were as big as I could hit it and then that putt on 17 was massive and then to just chip it to give on 18 so I didn't have to think about it was really nice."

When asked what he thought at the turn, Crocker said: "I'm not going to Q-School! If I'm being dead serious. I don't really know how the new categories are working and stuff like that, but that's 12 weeks on the trot, I've not seen my wife and child for a handful of weeks now I knew it would be a week off and then Q-School if that was the choice I made.

"I just really wanted to give it every chance I could to be able to spend a little time at home to be a dad and a husband, because it's been a while and I miss the living hell out of them.

He added: "It's not easy being a Tour player, being away from your family especially when you are on the bubble and obviously I'm not the only person, but the last thing you want to do is start a little family and get demoted or lose some of your playing rights so I was obviously thinking about his (son, Cruz) future and making sure my wife never has to have a job I guess.

"It was definitely on the back of my mind that I also have Stevie (Pettit, caddie) to take care of, there's lots of things that weigh on our shoulders when we are out there playing golf and I was just trying my ass off to get it in."

With Saturday's play about to get underway in Bermuda at this Butterfield Championship I must tell the story behind Ben Silverman being T3, after missing 7 of 9 cuts and at a lowly #143 in the Fed Ex Points, was heading straight to Q School, then the Korn Ferry Tour for 2027.

All of these players in the Fall Series are capable of shooting low rounds on their day, and each would tell us why in the post round interview. 

For Ben, born and raised in Thornhill, a typical Canadian hockey fan, the reason is a hockey stick !!

Recently in Utah he saw Tony Finau who has had struggles of his own, using a putter with the shaft of a hockey stick.

Ben tried it and was surprised how good it felt in his hands.

'It's right up my alley, I'm a big hockey guy, its fun for me using a hockey stick as my grip. 

It fits perfectly in my palms, I have a double interlock left hand low grip, but what ever way you hold it as long as your palms are on it, they will be suaere to the face.

CALIBER GOLF

Caliber Golf in Kenosha,Wisconsin, is the grip manufacturer, Ben got in touch, they made him one  within a week.

Tim Wright the founder, loves hockey and golf and in 2018 he built a hockey shafted putter and immediately had a hit. In 2021 he finally was advised it conformed with the rules of golf, and it debuted at the Golf Show in 2023.

It has been shipping world wide since then with putters retailing from $225 up to $700 on their website.

Ben will need a win to solve his immediate future but with 4 good rounds this week and a couple more in this Fall Series it is possible for him to crack the top 100.

Japan's Katsuragawa ties course record to lead Genesis Championship..54 hole results

Yuto Katsuragawa tied the course record with a flawless 63 to surge into a two-shot lead -13 at the 2026 Genesis Championship

The Japanese was fighting to keep his playing privileges for the 2027 DP World Tour when beginning the week in 106th place on the Race to Dubai Rankings.

With only the top 100 guaranteed to retain their card for next season, Katsuragawa knew he needed a good week but even he would have surprised himself with his stunning third round at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club which has him projected at #27

He started five shots behind overnight leaders Casey Jarvis and Antoine Rozner, with the former bursting three shots clear during his front nine.

However, Katsuragawa enjoyed a birdie blitz on his outward nine before birdieing three of the last five holes to match the -8 round of Jinam Kang in 2006.

He revealed the reason for his success.  "After the Irish Open, I met a new putting coach and he was very helpful to get me in good form like this today.

"I've been outside of the 100, but I've been aiming up and now I can look up to victory, and go all the way to play my golf. It's been a long time since I had this good feeling so it was a great round."

Jarvis made an early move with a birdie at the second to reach -11, with Katsuragawa rolling in four straight birdies from the same hole to sit two behind -9

A birdie at the fifth saw Jarvis increase his lead to three -12, and although Katsuragawa matched him at the eighth -10, the South African carded another at the next to climb to -13.

Katsuragawa got back on the birdie trail at the 14th and 15th to close in on Jarvis, who had just hit his tee-shot at the 12th out of bounds to stall his round.

He salvaged a bogey as he dropped back to -12 alongside Katsuragawa, only to drop a shot at the next to hand the Japanese the outright lead.

THE FINISH

A brilliant approach into the last set up a birdie putt of three feet for Katsuragawa, who drained the effort with confidence to set the clubhouse mark of -13 under par.

Jarvis could only par his way home, despite hitting the cup with his chipped third shot at the par-five last for 70 as he became Katsuragawa's closest rival at -11.

Rozner 71, battled back from bogeys at the second and third with birdies at the 15th and 18th to join South Korean pair Sanghun Shin 68 and Kim 67 at -10

Spaniard Jorge Campillo 66, France's Martin Couvra 69 and Open Champion Ryan Fox 69 were one shot further back -9, while Frenchman Frederic Lacroix 69, England's Dan Bradbury 66, Japan's Rikuya Hoshino 68, and American Johannes Veerman 67, were all at -8.

So the stage is now set for the final act, top 100, top 70, top 50 all will be finalized after the 4th round.

Antoine Rozner made two birdies in his final three holes to catch first-round leader Casey Jarvis as the pair head into the weekend of the Genesis Championship in a share of the lead.

The South African mixed four birdies with 14 pars to set the clubhouse target with a bogey-free 67, -10 total strengthening his bid for a third victory of the season that would lift him to second on the Race to Dubai Rankings.

But Rozner produced one of the rounds of the day late in the afternoon to draw level at the halfway stage, carding a flawless six-under 65 -10 total.

Starting on the tenth, the Frenchman rolled in a 44-foot birdie putt at the 13th before adding further gains at the 16th and 18th to reach the turn in 33. He then picked up three more shots with short-range birdie conversions at the fifth, seventh and eighth holes to complete his bogey-free effort.

Currently 77th on the Race to Dubai Ranking delivered by DP World, he's targeting playing his way into the top 50 to ensure he competes at both events in the DP World Tour Play-Offs

"I think the two days were pretty similar in terms of ball-striking and scoring," said Rozner.

"I played pretty solid overall. I missed a few greens here and there, but my chipping has been really good this week so far. My putting inside ten feet is very solid as well.

"So I think it's very solid overall. I'm very pleased, very happy with the score and the position I'm in."

Earlier, Jarvis had continued his impressive form after beginning the day with a one-shot lead.

Starting on the tenth tee, he opened with seven consecutive pars before birdies at the 17th and 18th saw him turn in 33.

He maintained that momentum on his second nine, converting strong iron shots into birdies at the third and fourth before parring his way home to sign for a bogey-free round.

"I mean, it's been pretty solid," said Jarvis.

"I felt like I've hit some quality golf shots and rolled in some good putts, enjoying the fans out there.

"There's a few following Si Woo, so yeah, it was pretty nice and the food's unbelievable in this country as well, so yeah, I'm enjoying it.

The pair sit three shots clear of a group of four players all on -7, including Open Champion Ryan Fox 68 67, DP World Tour winner Martin Couvra 69 66, as well as Korean Tour Order of Merit leader Sanghun Shin 66 69 and Italian Filippo Celli 69 66.

HEARTBREAK

While there was plenty of action at the top of the leaderboard that saw players secure their cards, there was also heartache at the bottom, as Kiradech Aphibarnrat withdrew with injury, ensuring he will miss out on keeping Category 10 status on the DP World Tour next season. 

The cut fell at +2.

As will Pablo Larrazabal 73 73 +4, who vied to keep fighting at Qualifying School next month, and Sebastian Söderberg 76 70 +4 , who came into the week at 101st but missed the cut and is currently projected to fall to 103rd.

HOPEFUL

Sean Crocker produced a level-par 71 to finish on the cut line at one over, providing the American with a good chance of securing enough points over the weekend to climb from 103rd to inside the top 100 on the Race to Dubai Rankings.
