This is the last year for Q school as we know it. There are 172 entrants for the men and only the top 25 will get their cards. It's a total stroke play event over 6 gruelling rounds at PGA West in California
Next year the players who finish 126-200 on the PGA Tour and the top 75 from the Web.com Tour will play 3 tournaments and the top 50 will get their cards. There will be a Q school but only for the Web.Com Tour.
I feel that's a shame because as many of you will know, Q school is full of thrills and spills and there aren't any tournaments all year with more tension.

Round 5 wrap
Rebecca Lee-Bentham sank a 60-foot birdie putt on the final hole of LPGA Final Qualifying to earn co-medalist honors with Thailand’s Moriya Jutanugarn. The Toronto native started the day six strokes off the lead but carded five birdies in her bogey-free round for a share of the top spot with Jutanugarn at 13-under par.
“I wasn’t really thinking about coming in first or anything,” said Lee-Bentham. “I just wanted to play well and focus on striking it well and making putts. I’ve been waiting for this for a while. It’s been a long grind for everybody out here.”
Stephanie Sherlock joins Lee-Bentham as the second Canadian to fill a spot in the top-20 this year and finished 10th after a 2-over 74 in the final round
Sue Kim finished T32 after a closing 69 and she will recieve Priority List 17 status as only the top 20 and ties get their LPGA cards.

Notes
Graeme McDowell (68 -17) won for the fiirst time in 2 years as he beat his playing partner Keegan Bradley by 3 shots to win the PGA World Challenge. His last win was the same event when he beat Tiger in a playoff
Speaking of Tiger he put up $4m of his own cash to keep the exhibition event afloat after Chevron withdrew.
Meanwhile in South Africa Martin Kaymer shot -3 69 to win the Nedbank Golf Challenge by 2 shots at -8 280. Kaymer has struggled trying to regain his trademark fade after changing his game to a draw to try and play more effectively at the Masters.
