Superb Svensson improves Fed Ex Cup standing at Wyndham Championship... live scoreboard, Friday TEE TIMES

PGA Tour  Wyndham Championship Leaderboard Tee Times

It's all about the numbers in this last week of the FedEx Cup season and Adam Svensson at #37 is guaranteed a spot in the top 70 for he first round of the playoffs at the St Jude, but with a superb bogey free 30 on his front nine and 33 on the back his -7 63 he has improved his projected place by 11 spots to #26. He is off #1 7.34 Friday.

Russell Henley at #34 is the leader on a rain softened Sedgefield CC -8 62.

The other Canadians did not fair so well.

Mac Hughes (1st 1.11pm)) will play next week, started at #44, and with an E70 T68 he drops 3 places.

Michael Gligic (8.51 1st) at #207 has had a poor year, but he keeps using all his playing privilege's in an effort to retain his card by making the top 125. He also opened E 70.

Adam Hadwin (8.40 1st) at #39 will play next week, he will want to improve on an opening +3 73, dropping 4 spots to #43 in the projection.

Taylor Pendrith (8.29 10th)  didn't help himself with +4 74, starting at #113 he drops a spot.

Remember this, after this weekend's final 70 are set, others like Pendrith and Gligic will still have a few events in the wrap around or Fall season beginning with the Fortinet Championship in California in September to make the top 125 who get their cards.

Last year Canadian Nick Taylor just got in at #123, and with a big $2,000,000+ 2nd place finish at the Waste Management last February and his historic win at the RBC Canadian Open he begins the playoffs this year ranked #13.

Depending in how the final 30 end the playoffs are ranked, they are rewarded in the staggered start to the Tour Championship.

#1 starts that week at -10, #2 at -8, #3 at -7 etc.  Taylor at -13 would begin the week at -3.

Like I said, it's all about the numbers...
