Hadwin, Svensson lead Canadians at Riviera... complete round 1 scoreboard

PGA Tour : Genesis Invitational scoreboard here.

Adam Hadwin has carried on his fine play from last weeks WM Phoenix Open with an opening -4 67 on the venerable Riviera course in Los Angeles at  this week's $20,000,000 Genesis Invitational.

Adam Svensson

He is T7 along with fellow Canadian Adam Svensson in a large group at 4 which includes Rory McIlroy.

The early lead is -7 64 by the California Kid Max Homa and Keith Mitchell. Big Jon Rahm is right behind after his -6 65.

Homa, a brand new daddy has won 4 of his 6 PGA Tour titles in California. He won 2 weeks ago at Torrey Pines, and won this event in 2021. He lives 15 minutes from Riviera.

Nick Taylor's $2 million US

Nick Taylor was solid again, with an opening 2 69 T27

Corey Connors T56 E 71 and his Olympic partner Mac Hughes T77 +1 72.

With 2 birdies and 3 bogey's Tiger was chugging along heading for a score something around par on the par 3 16th, but he saved his round with a great approach leading to birdie, then a 14 foot curler for birdie at the 600yd 17th and a lovely long cut approach to the back right pin at 18 for his 3rd birdie in a row for his -2 69 T27.

He is off with Rory and Justin Thomas at 724am today..(10.24est)

Good thing he did because only a third of the field are over par (53 players) and they include Jordan Spieth 74,  Matt Fitzpatrick 73 and Si Woo Ki 76 amongst others.

Making the cut is priority for them today, top 65 and ties will be around for a nice paycheck on the weekend, $3.6m to the winner.
