Glen Abbey to be named a Heritage Site

Good news today that the Abbey has been granted the status of a Heritage Site which means the greedy bastards at Clublink wont be able to build another 3000, $4M plus homes in an already ultra expensive Oakdale.. GOOD..

What we need in the west end of the GTA is more affordable housing for the average guy, not more big golf course homes for the wealthy..

Also the Abbey is THE home of our Canadian Open, with such a rich and lucrative history..

A report recommending that the Glen Abbey property be designated a Cultural Heritage Landscape under s. 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act went to Heritage Committee this morning at 9:30 a.m. in Council Chamber at Oakville Town Hall.

They voted in favour.... Now the rubber stamp at Mississauga town hall and the Abbey will be saved... The 2018 RBC Canadian Open is secure..
