Andrew Parr
"I want to thank everyone for all their love. I am so grateful to have wonderful people in my life. I do this for you!" Andrew just posted this on his Facebook page.
As you may know he narrowly missed his full European Tour card but really took advantage of his limited status on the European Tour for 2012 with a very good week at the Jo'Burg Open and in fact capitalized on an amazing round 3 of -8 64 to get right into contention. With 3 birdies on today's front nine went out in 34 and stood at -15 just 2 behind the leaders. However he gave all 3 shots back with bogey at the par 4 13th then a double at the par4 14th to finish up at -12, 5 shots behind South African Branden Grace who had all pars on his back nine for 72 and a -17 total. It was his 50th event on the European Tour and his first win.
On 13 he hit his wedge over the green into the back bunker, short sided couldn't get up and down. On 14 his drive was in the rough, he wedged into a greenside bunker then 3 putted for the double.
