New PGA Tour season begins.. Pendrith, Connors prepare for Presidents Cup..

When I checked the calendar this morning it is Tuesday September 13, 2022, so I know this may be confusing to those who don't follow golf, but the 2023 PGA Tour season gets under way this weekend out in Napa, California for the Fortinet Championship.

After Rory was the "story" 3 weeks ago winning the 2022 Presidents Cup and scooping the winning $18,000,000, the $75,000,000 final prize fund has all been paid up to those who've earned their share, and the long trek to next year's Tour Championship begins.

Rory finished 2nd in last week's BMW PGA Championship on the DP World Tour, with Shane Lowry taking the winners cheque. Rory will now concentrate on trying for the double in winning the Race To Dubai.

Meanwhile with the Presidents Cup next week at Quail Hollow in NC, Canada's 2 International Team members, Corey Connors and Taylor Pendrith have caught a flight to California and are in the Fortinet field along with Michael Gligic, Mac Hughes, Adam Svensson and Nick Taylor who all have their 2023 cards.

On the distaff side, the LPGA continues with a stop at the Portland Classic where Brooke Henderson who won it this 2015,2016 is in the  field along with Maddie Szeryk and Alena Sharp. Brooke T18 last week in Cincinnati at the Kroger Queen City Championship with a closing 73. That scoreboard is here.

If you're anywhere near Sioux Falls in South Dakota you can get a ticket for the Sanford Classic where Mike Weir and Stephen Ames will tee it up on the PGA Tour Champions. Both of them T41 last week in St Louis at the Ascension Charity Classic. the final scores here
