Yip, Sloan, Scott, Hill and Evancez all advance...Canadian results at Q school.. live scoring

Here is a summary of Canadian results from golfcanada. I have added live scoring links to each course

Stage 2 of Q School is now complete and on Saturday Matt Hill and Mitch Evanecz advantaced.
On Friday, Ryan Yip of Calgary, Roger Sloan of Merritt, B.C. and Richard Scott of Kingsville, Ont., all advanced to the final stage which will be played November 28th - December 3rd at PGA West.

Adam Hadwin of Abbotsford, B.C., and Brad Fritsch of Ottawa will also be on hand at the final Q-school stage. Fritsch, who earned his PGA Tour card last month in the finale of the Web.com Tour Championship, will be looking to improve his priority standing heading into the 2013 season.

Mitch Evanecz of Red Deer, Alta., played his worst round of the week but it did not cost him. The former Alberta Amateur Champion carded a round of 73 at the Bear Creek Golf Club to finish in a tie for sixth, good enough to advance to the final stage.

Stuart Anderson of Sooke, B.C., put together a furious final round only to come up two strokes short. Anderson shot a round of 67 which included seven birdies over a nine hole stretch but it left him tied for 26th. Only the top 19 and ties advanced.

Nick Taylor of Abbotsford, B.C., started the day two strokes off the cut line but a final round of 77 dropped him into a tie for 46th.



HUMBLE, TX

Roger Sloan of Merritt, B.C., carded a final round 72 at Redstone Golf Club to finish in a tie for 12th and advance to the final stage of PGA Tour Q-School.

Joining him was Richard Scott of Kingsville, Ont., who needed two birdies over his final four holes to make the cut on the number and finish in a tie for 18th. Only the top 19 and ties advanced to the final stage.

Michael Gligic (73) of Burlington, Ont., and Wes Heffernan (78) of Calgary both failed to advance




BROOKSVILLE, FL

For the third straight day, Matt Hill carded a 2-under 70 at Southern Hills Plantation Club in Brooksville, Florida. That left him in ninth place at 11-under par which easily put him through to the final stage.

Jon Mills of Belleville, Ont., saved his best for last, posting his lowest round of the week, a 3-under 69, to finish in a tie for 51st.




PANAMA CITY, FL

Eugene Wong of North Vancouver, B.C., posted his best round of the week, 2-under 69 at the Hombre Golf Club. That left him tied for 23rd, which was two strokes shy of advancing to the final stage.

Ted Brown of Peterborough, Ont., shot 72 and finished in a tie for 60th



PLANTATION, FL

Ryan Yip of Calgary has qualified for the final stage of Q-school with a final round 67 on Friday at Plantation Preserve Golf Course & Club in Plantation, Florida. Yip finished in a tie for 13th as the top 19 and ties qualified to move on.

David Byrne of Essex, Ont., carded a final round 70 and missed the cut by three strokes while Yohann Benson of Montreal shot 71 to miss out by four strokes.

Rob Oppenheim took medalist honors at 21 under par after a 67 Friday. South Korea’s Meen Whee Kim finished second four shots back, while Kris Blanks finished third.

Ross Fisher,a European Tour winner and former Ryder Cup player, finished in a tie for 13th while another European Tour winner, Oliver Fisher, birdied his final two holes to make the cut on the number at 10-under par.

Among the notables who failed to advance were Hank Kuehne, Jamie Lovemark, Jesper Parnevik and Manuel Villegas, brother of PGA Tour pro Camilo Villegas, who will be playing in the final stage at the end of the month to try and retain his Tour card for next year 




MCKINNEY, TX

None of the four Canadians entered in the qualifier at TPC Craig Ranch managed to advance to the final stage. James Love of Calgary came the closest, missing by just five strokes after a final round 72 which left him tied for 33rd.

Only the top 20 and ties advanced to the final stage.

Adam Cornelson (70) of Langley, B.C., finished tied for 48th, David McKenzie (70) of Georgetown, Ont., finished tied for 55th while Chris Baryla (73) of Vernon, B.C. and Dave Levesque (74) of Sainte-Catherine, Que., finished tied for 65th.
