Four Canadians make the weekend, Japanese flag fly's WM Phoenix Open...36 hole results

Canadians at the US Open

Four Canadians will play the weekend at WM Phoenix Open where the Japanese flag is at full mast heading into moving day.

Ryo Hisatsune was the 2023 Sir Henry Cotton rookie of the year on the DP World Tour where his brilliant play won him dual membership on the PGA Tour.

He was in the final group with Justin Rose last weekend and finished a distant 2nd to Rosie's masterclass at Torrey Pines, today the little Japanese shot a brilliant -9 63 aided by a chip in birdie after finding water on the 17th and he has the lead at -11.

One of his idols, Hideki Matsuyama has won here twice, and is well placed to make it three with with 68 64 -10 for 2nd place.

Sudarshan Yellamaraju T28 74 64 -4 ( Moved up 77 places with his 64)

Nick Taylor T37 71 68 -3

Corey Conners MC  72 72 +2

After all the hullabaloo surrounding Brooks Koepka's return he has now missed 2 cuts, 75 69 +2 with the cut falling at -1.

Scheffler 74 65 is T28 -4 in that large group 7 shots off the lead.
