Monday rain closes Augusta National for practice and "patrons"

Due to heavy storms, Augusta National has decided to close up shop for the day.
The course was initially cleared around 10 a.m. EDT with the hopes that the rain might veer off and allow patrons to return to the course. But the storms have become stronger and it was deemed necessary to close the course until Tuesday morning

For patrons who had Monday practice-round tickets, the club announced that all of those patrons will receive refunds in May and guaranteed a chance to purchase practice-round tickets for the 2015 Masters.

According to Augusta National, the last time the club was closed on an official practice or tournament day due to bad weather was Monday, April 7, 2003.

If the forecast holds true, it looks as though the bad weather will be gone by Tuesday morning and sunny skies are expected for the remainder of the week
